Dana-Spicer 50 and 60 Monobeam front axles were used on
1999-2004 Ford Super Duty 4x4 trucks. Early F250 and F350 trucks have
Model 50-229 axles, while most later F250 and F350 trucks plus
all F450 and F550 models use the Dana
60-248. Servicing either axle is the same with the
exception of some different torque specifications.
Externally, the Model 50 axle looks virtually the same as a
Model 60 even down to the cover size, however the differential
components are much smaller.
